Ex-Comm

Executive committee of the National Security Council. It was the name given to the group which gave Kennedy advices during his management of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The group was comprised of : Dean Rusk (Secretary of State), Robert McNamara (Secretary of Defense), John McCone (CIA Director), Douglas Dillon (Secretary of the Treasury), McGeorge Bundy (JFK's national security advisor), Theodore C. Sorensen (Presidential Advisor), George Ball (Undersecretary of State), Alexis Johnson (Deputy Undersecretary of State), Maxwell Taylor (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff), Edward Martin (Deputy Assistant Secretary for Latin America), as well as other high-ranking American officials.
