Texas' Attorney General

Birthdate: October 1, 1918 - Death: Wednesday February 25, 2004

Texas' Attorney General who told the Warren Commission that Lee Harvey Oswald was an undercover agent for the FBI, from which he was receiving $200 a month from September, 1962 to his death.

The Warren Commission prefered to believe J. Edgar Hoover, who denied Carr's affirmations.

Waggoner Carr also told the Commission that on the evening of November 22, 1963 (at around 8 or 9 p.m.), he received a phone call from someone at the White House (he refused to reveal his identity). This person wished to know whether he had heard the rumor according to which the puropse of Oswald's arrest was to make everyone believe that the presumed assassin was part of an international conspiracy.
