George W. Hickey

A Secret Service agent who was sitting on the rear seat of the car following the presidential limousine. When he heard the shots, he stood up with his weapon but found nothing to shoot at.

Hickey is nevertheless the unfortunate hero of a particularly surprising theory about JFK's death : according to ballistics expert Howard Donahue who wrote "Mortal Error" (published by Bonar Menninger) in 1992, it is this agent who would have accidentally fired the shot that killed John F. Kennedy.

Hickey sued Menninger and his publisher, but lost his trial because he decided to sue him too long after the book was published.

Chapter II - Organization of the Motorcade: ... in charge of the follow-up car, who did not believe that he could reach the President's car at the speed it was then traveling. Special Agent George W. Hickey, Jr., in the rear seat of the Presidential follow-up car, picked up and cocked an automatic rifle as he heard the last shot.
